Why here, not there
Tor Pignattara isn't a postcard neighborhood — it's a real Roman working-class district, and this is where its families come to eat, on an ordinary Tuesday as much as a Saturday. No staged photos on the plates, no tourist pricing, no performance of "Roman charm." Just the food that's been cooked here for generations — and a proper welcome for anyone who walks in to share it.
We were featured on Alessandro Borghese's 4 Ristoranti (Sky Italy, the show's 10th-anniversary special episode). We kept doing exactly what we did before the cameras arrived. If what you're looking for is Rome the way Rome actually eats — sitting elbow to elbow with people who live three streets away — this is it.
On the table
Roman "fifth quarter" cooking — offal, slow-braised, the dishes that built this cuisine long before it became fashionable. Coda alla vaccinara, trippa, and more, depending on the day.
Hand-pulled every morning. Carbonara, gricia, cacio e pepe — made the way they're supposed to be, no shortcuts, no cream.
A rotating pizza program we test week by week, with our regulars deciding what stays. Thin, high-temperature Roman crust — nothing frozen, nothing standard.
Don't worry about the language — an English menu is ready for you at the table, and our staff is always happy to walk you through anything, explain a dish, or suggest what to order. Being authentic doesn't mean making it harder for you. It just means the kitchen never changed for anyone.
